I read reviews that say 'stayed up all night reading it' and 'couldn't put it down'. I could always put books aside no matter how good. But this is the first one I've ever read that I totally get why. I read 2/3 of the book last night & blew through the rest tonight. The only word I can think of is devoured. One of the best books I've read in 2 years. Everything was right on target, characters true to life, writing style so good it flew by, and the plot.....the plot was like driving a race car through a twisty road where the scenery changes at every turn. I won't forget the characters anytime soon, this book left an indelible impression. Can't wait for her next book. Just blown away- would have rated it 5+ stars if that was an option. So anyway, get the book!!

So many times I've picked up a new book touted as a "mind-bending thriller with shocking twists" only to figure out the culprit halfway through the "full of plot holes" storylines. Not with this book - this truly is a freight train of a story, written with much skill, and a protagonist that has just the right amount of malice and wit. The end was truly NOT seen coming and I couldn't put it down once I got into the story.

When part of the title is "A Psychological Thriller With A Shocking Twist", well, I just know I am going to figure it out, as will anyone who has ever read a "psychological thriller" marketed with a "shocking twist" or "an ending you won't see coming!". That is the clue that the author is going to try to fool you and you need to pay careful attention both to what she is saying and what she ISN'T saying. I knew from the very first chapter roughly how it was going to end. I saw immediately what I wasn't reading. Still, how it all plays out is interesting, especially the manipulation of social media, but also just clever manipulation, period. Chapters are written in one of two women's voices, neither of whom do we like very much. Lizzie casually "borrows" a manuscript in the first few pages, then lies to her best friend about it, so we know right off she is not as virtuous as she wants us to believe. But then she encounters Becca and, oh my, things do go bad for her, then worse, then way worse. I almost wanted to stop reading because her whole situation felt hopeless and horrifying to me (her reputation, her job), but I was also intrigued. I give the author stars for keeping me reading, but not too many, because she signaled her intentions too strongly, and where is the fun in that?

This was the best book I have read all year. Absolutely amazing. It kept me up ALL night because I just couldn't put it down. Wow. What a story!

Five days. That’s all it takes for Elizabeth Crawley’s world to be turned upside down. This book drew me in from page one. Friends Like These has that special “it factor” that I can’t really describe, but that I love so much. It’s something to do with the wit and pacing of both the inner monologues and of conversations. Reading Lizzie in that opening chapter where she describes Becca to the police reminded me of Regina George explaining her dynamic with Janice to Cady Heron. That whiff of cattiness in the air and bad blood.Full disclosure: anytime a novel boasts a surprise twist or I see comments talking about surprise endings, I go into hyperdrive with determination to sniff out any red herrings and plot twists. With that, I had 3 or 4 off-the-wall scenarios of how the story was going down, with one big idea at the forefront. What I liked about this novel is that it has shifts. The story felt like a free-flowing liquid that took on different shapes as more was revealed about the characters’ pasts and their intentions for the future. Even though the setup is clear in terms of who is protagonist and who is antagonist, our protagonist is not without faults and our antagonist is not without sympathetic circumstances. There are also other players in the mix (enter: the neighbors), so it’s not as though there aren’t suspects if Becca is more than just missing.“Oh, great, I’m being interviewed by PC Kandiah, keeper of Middle Earth Knowledge and a clear Tolkien nerd.”Statements like the above are what made this story enjoyable. There are serious issues that occur and mysterious circumstances, but there’s also humor. And yes, I was surprised by the turn of events at the end. Not by everything because I had been sniffing out some things, but enough so that I was really pleased (I love being caught off guard in this genre). If you like novels with alternating perspectives and changing timelines (showing how things unfolded at different points during the 5 days), then you’ll absolutely love this. Be warned though, as justice is elusive in this tale - I almost gave it 4 stars because of that, but it was too well done for me to hold back any stars.

This was a great book! I am not the fastest reader and I read this in a few days because I stayed up late most nights reading. My only complaint would be that there is very little information out there on the story line. I usually skim reviews because I don't want to know everything but there wasn't really even a synopsis on my Kindle app. Anyway, many twists and turns I did not see coming. I really wish there was somewhere I could "talk" with folks about that ending!!

First off, let me admit here that I usually read at a slug's pace..It takes a good story to speed me up...I read this book in just a few days. I thought it was well written, and I loved the twists in it...I also think the Title fits the story line perfectly..Thank you for the good reading experience :-)

4 stars. The extra star given because the author wrote this in an extreme short time!3 for keeping me completely interested the ENTIRE time.•We start with a A FB social media stalker•What we believe to be one side of the story, has 3 sides.•loved the separation of parts of the story, at least I knew who was talking / thinking.•#annoying hashtags through the the book•didn’t expect the ending!!! Great ending.#wouldrecommend #blessed
